News.  Some of us it goes with our morning coffee, some of us, well we could do with out.  I hear some people say they prefer not to watch it because it is too negative.  This can be true, but it doesn't change what is happening around us when we chose not to watch.  Whether you decide to keep up with the news or not is your choice, but I will say there are some very good reasons to.  

 

Knowledge is Power.

 

Not the kind of control power, but the more you know, the more you are able to keep from being deceived and ignorant.  For example, some people go to a car dealership, buy a car and come out the other end feeling bamboozeled.  The reason is they did not PREPARE with enough knowledge to get the best deal or car.  A little bit of research, a good mechanic on your side and knowing how financing works could save you thousands.  But sadly enough, some people just take what they are given because of ignorance and lack of knowledge.  

 

News is useful because knowing what is going on around you keeps you from being unprepared.  If you have kids you will be able to see what's going on with the school boards and the changes they are making, you can keep your kids healthy when a particular virus is going around, there might be incliment weather that may affect your day, but being equipped with knowledge will keep you from surprises.

 

As the end times approach it is extremely important to keep up with the current events.  If things are happening on the other side of the world, how will you know about it?  The Bible gives us signs and prophesies so that we may intrepret the seasons, so that we may be PREPARED, so that we may EQUIP ourselves with knowledge and not be fooled when people say that Christ has come.  God warned us over and over through out the New Testament because He loves us and desires that none of us be deceived.  Unfortunately many will and God foresaw that so He gave us ample information to be PREPARED as the times approach.

 

Even though news is increasingly negative day by day, we can still keep up with it without letting it negatively affecting us.  We can use it as an opportunity to pray for those suffering, to stir up a desire to help those in need, to think of ways we can be active in the battle against the enemy.  News can be a very powerful tool if you allow it to be, so PREPARE with knowledge so you can be ready to fight!
